Elise Schadauer’s professional communications’ experience spans nearly 25 years and includes assisting a variety of professional services firms, small and mid-sized businesses, and nonprofits. In addition to being a writer, editor and consultant, she has served as the marketing director for two prominent Twin Cities law firms, as well as for the University of Minnesota Alumni Association, and an architectural-engineering firm.


She has conducted seminars on how to publish effective newsletters and has been honored with a number of awards including the United Way Excellence in Total Communications Award and a Merit Award for a Special Event while at the Greater Minneapolis Girl Scout Council. The National Law Firm Marketing Association presented Elise with an Honorable Mention Award for public relations in the promotion of the Chinese Ambassador to the U.S. visit, sponsored by Briggs and Morgan.


She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Technical Writing from the University of Minnesota and has completed a series of courses in graphic design. She is currently a member of the American Marketing Association and the National Writers Union. Throughout her career she has been a member of related industry associations including the International Association of Business Communicators and the Legal Marketing Association.


Writing and Editing - Elise has been writing and editing her entire adult life and began her career writing proposals for an engineering/architectural firm. Market Research - Elise has conducted primary and secondary market research for a variety of clients. Valuable information can be added to a client's base of knowledge related to positioning their companies, sizing up the competition, targeting prospective clients, and much more. Elise’s knowledge of primary research tools is broad and she has assisted clients in conducting surveys through written, online and one-on-one interview methods. To gather secondary research, Elise uses databases available through James J. Hill Library; she then analyzes the information and provides clients with an executive summary and key findings.

 

Media/Public Relations - Focused on increasing an organization’s visibility, Elise has prepared strategic public relations plans for clients which include defining objectives, audiences, and key messages as well as a range of tactics that best meet the needs of the organization. She has successfully pitched story ideas to the media, provided research and ghostwriting for articles, written and submitted news releases, and placed articles and announcements in a variety of media outlets both nationally and locally in the Twin Cities including:
